Datalux is excited to announce the launch of two new compact computers for a range of demanding applications. The Databrick UC1 and Databrick BX2 are both small form factor box PCs that feature all metal enclosures and fanless/ventless operation. All of the cooling is accomplished through heat conduction fins on the top of the unit. The Databrick UC1 and BX2 have an Intel® Core™ i5 processor (which can be upgraded to Core i7), are loaded with Windows 10 Professional and feature a base price under $1,000.
Both Databrick computers come standard with a 120GB SSD and have 4GB of DRAM installed, which can be upgraded to 8GB or 16GB. They are built with power efficient components that can handle input voltages from 10VDC to 16VDC without an additional voltage/power converter.
The Databrick BX2 features a host of legacy and up-to-date connectivity options, including dual LAN, RS-232 COMM ports, a minimum of four USB 3.0 ports and both VGA and HDMI video output. It can accommodate SSD drives and 2.5” HDD drives, all in a package smaller than four desktop hard drives. It can even be upgraded to include GPS and 4GLTE connectivity.
The Databrick UC1 measures an incredibly compact 4.6 inches by 4.5 inches by 2.1 inches tall – fits in the palm of your hand. It can be mounted virtually anywhere and features the latest in digital connectivity, including Intel 802.11ac WiFi and both HDMI and DiplayPort video connectors. It will support SSD drives up to 500GB in size.
Most significantly, both of these durable, compact PCs are priced below $1,000 for the base configuration, which includes Windows 10 Professional, an Intel Core i5 Processor, a 120GB SSD and 4GB of DRAM system memory
Public Safety Applications – The Databrick computers are designed to operate in vehicles and are the ideal solution to interfacing with touchscreen monitors such as the new Dodge Charger Uconnect® or aftermarket vehicle monitors such as Datalux’s LMV series monitors or the Havis TSD1. With the Databrick UC1’s small form factor, it can mount in the passenger compartment of a vehicle, making installation and cable routing much easier than larger computers which must be located remotely. The rugged metal housing can be secured to a console or vehicle mount. The Databrick UC1 and BX2 accept vehicle voltages from 10-15VDC directly. The Databrick BX2 will mount nicely in the trunk on an equipment shelf or can even be installed under a seat. The dual LAN ports on the Databrick BX2 allow fast connections to mobile routers, in-vehicle cameras or ALPR systems.
Medical Computing Applications – The compact size of the Databrick computers enable them to be mounted in a variety of locations: on a cart, in a patient room or inside a piece of equipment. The Databrick UC1, in particular, is small enough to mount behind an LCD monitor or even under a keyboard tray. In addition, Datalux has a unique VESA mount that enables attachment and removal of the Databrick UC1 to a monitor mount or cart without detachment of the monitor. Databrick computers have no fan or vents to attract dust, making them an ideal choice for clean and sterile environments. They are also well suited for patient rooms since they run silently (thanks to the solid state drive and lack of a fan). For cart applications, the efficiency of the Databrick BX2 enables long run times between battery charges. It is constructed with laptop components and consumes less than 6 Watts running Window 10 Professional.
Embedded Applications – For applications requiring an embedded industrial controller or PC, the Databrick computers surpass existing products by providing the excellent processing power of the Intel Core i5 in an extremely small envelope. Without any moving parts and a ventless, all-metal enclosure, furthermore, the Databrick UC1 and Databrick BX2 are extremely durable and reliable, yet much more price competitive than existing industrial PC solutions. The Databrick UC1 is particularly suited to being installing in locations where other embedded box computers will not fit.
The Databrick UC1 and BX2 are assembled, serviced and supported in the USA. They come standard with a 3-Year warranty. Datalux also offers free 60 day evaluations of the Databrick computer.
